Alun Robert was born in Scotland of Irish heritage but has spent most of his adult life in England.
He is a prolific creator of lyrical free verse writing in English and the Doric. This has brought him success in various poetry competitions in the British Isles and North America.
His work has been published in numerous UK, Irish, African, US and Canadian literary magazines, anthologies, ekphrastic responses and webzines.
From time to time, he has read his poetry across southern England from Suffolk through the South Bank to Southampton. He is a member of the Poetry Society, the Mid-Kent Stanza, the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve Creative Writing Group, Dreich, and the Federation of Writers Scotland, for whom he was a Featured Writer in 2019. He will also be in their forthcoming anthology on the Declaration of Arbroath.
His poetry has appeared in the Dove Tales’ Poems For Peace online project and their Bridges Or Walls? anthology.
